🇲🇦 ✨ T O D R A G O R G E ✨ 🇲🇦 ⠀⠀ You could say Todra Gorge was gorge-ous, and was just a really nice place to walk through! The place we were at was part of the widest part of the Gorge with hotels even being on the opposite side from where the main road was in the gorge. The cliffs are just under 300m in height with the occasional adrenaline fean visiting to indulge in rock climbing. ⠀⠀ The surrounding villages are also quite quaint! 🇲🇦 ✨ A I T B E N H A D D O U ✨ 🇲🇦 ⠀⠀ This afternoon sitting on this veranda, was honestly such a highlight! We walked to the top where the second photo was taken however, it was incredibly windy, felt like we were going to get blown away! ⠀⠀ After our adventure to the top we rested back in this spot, which was consistently referred to as “Khalessi’s Terrance” by @sheagardner93 but watching her being in so much joy, witnessing the sunset and sipping on the addictive Moroccan tea, it was all I needed for the perfect afternoon! 🇲🇦 ✨ F E Z M E D I N A ✨ 🇲🇦 ⠀⠀ Fez is considered one of the the oldest imperial cities in the Kingdom of Morocco. The Fez medina was founded in 789 and was the capital of Morocco until 1912, but now it is still considered the second largest city in Morocco! ⠀⠀ The Medina is a large, bustling, car-free labyrinth, with about 10,000 alleys (hence the car-free!) You really have to listen while walking through this maze and the main way that stall owners transport their goods with are donkeys and/or mules, and they will trampled you! If you hear yelling, move to the side ASAP! If you are after nasty smells, and leather goods, one of the best known and most well-renowned tanneries is situated within the Fez Medina! ⠀⠀ The UNESCO heritage listed site is definitely worth the visit! 🇲🇦 ✨ B O U I N A N I A M E D E R S A, F E S ✨ 🇲🇦 ⠀⠀ This stunning little medusas (schools for studying the Quran), is tucked away within the crazy Fes Medina! It was built in 1351 and 1357, and has even been restored throughout it’s many centuries of being open! The architecture is a beautiful example of Islamic architecture. ⠀⠀ Due to most of the of mosques within the Medina not allowing non-muslims into them, this one was quite busy with lots of tourist groups coming through. 🇲🇦 ✨ O A S I S D U T A F I L A L E T✨ 🇲🇦 ⠀⠀ 140km long, one of the largest Oasis’s in the world! Along the Oasis, there are plenty of villages along the Oasis due to the products within them. 🇲🇦 ✨ A I T B E N H A D D O U✨ 🇲🇦 ⠀⠀ This city, was a city I had no expectations of and, honestly, didn’t do a lot of research into, however, I was very happily surprised! ⠀⠀ The 17th century village was originally a stop along the Sahara Trade route where the traders who were carrying camel loads of slaves, spices and other goods would take a rest on their journey through to either Western Sahara or Timbuktu. ⠀⠀ Now, my movie buff of a travel buddy @sheagardner93, had already don’t all the research she needed into this destination, why? Because it is movie heaven! 🇲🇦 ✨ D A R E L - M A K H Z E N, F E Z✨ 🇲🇦 ⠀⠀ The stunning entrance to the royal palace of Fez! This entrance has 7 stunning, golden gates, one for each day of the week to enter via. The one we are standing in is actually one of the smaller ones! The largest one was being thoroughly cleaned which they do with lemon juice to stop any erosion by any other chemicals! ⠀⠀ The 80 hectares of palace is definitely not open to the public, however, with an entrance as such, you can only imagine how grand the rest of this palace is which was originally built in the 13th century, however, has definitely been renovated since! ⠀⠀ If you had a palace would what would your entrance look like? 🇲🇦 ✨ S A H A R A D E S E R T P T. T H R E E ✨ 🇲🇦 ⠀⠀ Camel rides are interesting. It certainly takes a skill to ride these bad boys, and the mounting and de-mounting of them is very interesting too! We got to name them and I need this one Chuck. Kind of convenient in the end, since he was pretty sassy! ⠀⠀ It’s completely understandable as to why camels have been used as animals to transport usually objects for such long periods of time! The camels are definitely designed for the desert with having 3 sets of eyelids and 2 rows of eyelashes (I know a lot of gals that would most certainly have eyelash envy!) They can survive off almost any prickly plant that other animals wouldn’t be able to thanks to a set of thick and tough lips! They can close their nostrils during a nasty sand storm and instead of jumping and sprinting across a boiling hot area of sand (the desert) they have thick pads of skin on their chest and knees so they can actually just sit comfortably in it! (Is it just me who enjoys watching ill prepared people do the hot sand dance?) I did not need to worry about whether Chuck was cool with carrying me, because these interesting creatures can carry about 400 kgs for up to 40km per day! (Some lads would be incredibly jealous of this strength!) ⠀⠀ If you were jumping on a camel, what would you name him? 🐪

🇲🇦 ✨ C H E F C H A O U E N P T. F I V E ✨ 🇲🇦 ⠀⠀ I promise, this is the last Chefchaouen post, for now . . . ⠀⠀ This last photo however, came with a rollercoaster of emotions (I am forever an emotional mess #soznotsoz.) ⠀⠀ I wanted to find this step after searching multiple things on here, Pinterest, Google and whatever else I could possibly search about Chefchaouen and seeing this staircase multiple times, however, I could never find a pinpoint, address, or anything directions on where to find it! @sheagardner93 and I had our early morning start and we were walking around randomly. After almost giving up and deciding to take a tiny alleyway to try and get back to the main square, WE FOUND THE STEP! A moment of joy and happiness came over me, however, it was short lived as a group of tourist that had previously swamped us and started taking photos of us while were were at another courtyard, rounded the corner and again, began taking photos of us while we were trying to take our own. The lack of patience they showed and respect for us was absolutely horrifying. ⠀⠀ I had a diva moment and lost my shit because I felt so uncomfortable and stood to the side for the next 5 plus minutes while they all took their photos. In the end we got the picture and I am so glad we stumbled across that little step! ⠀⠀ Has there ever been a moment you have experienced while travelling of people not show patience?
